Keeping our industry together since 1968

We are the Trade Association and Peak Body for the Snowsports Equipment Industry in Australia. Our members are wholesalers, importers, manufacturers, retailers, rental businesses, other trade buyers and the media.

1968

SIA is formed

1982

Becomes a non-profit limited company

2004

Organises the first Australian Snowsports Whole of Industry Conference

2005–2010

Runs the conference every year, jointly with the Australian Ski Areas Association

What we do

Promote

The promotion of Snowsports in all forms.

Represent

Representing members to Government departments, from ski wear tariff classification to the correct classification of snowboard boots.

Connect

Promoting friendly trade and social relations among members and within the industry at large.

SIA is committed to the organisation and growth of the Snowsports industry. The SIA Board normally meets every other month and members are encouraged to attend and contribute, with minutes available to members.

Backing Australian Snowsports

SIA has supported Australian Snowsports by assisting Olympic, World Cup and Disabled teams and participants. It has contributed funds to other bodies to help promote Snowsports activities, sponsored the annual Australian Snowsports Awards, and supports Snow Safe.
